Patna: Tremors have been felt in several districts of Bihar. The quake affected Patna, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi districts of northern Bihar.
The quake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was reported below the ground, however; no tsunami alert was issued. However, the tremors were felt for a very short time.
The epicenter was reported below the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal’s capital, on Wednesday morning. The speed was 6.0 on the Richter scale. The quake was so strong that its effects were felt in some parts of Bihar adjoining Nepal.
It may be recalled that a catastrophic earthquake had struck Nepal in 2015. The epicenter was reported at Pokhara, near the capital Kathmandu. An earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale killed at least 9,000 people.
