Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi city of Bihar. His father’s name is Pan Singh, that mother’s name is Mrs. Devaki.

During his childhood, Dhoni used to spend more time playing cricket because he liked playing cricket.

Dhoni was a journey ticket examiner (TTE) at Kharagpur railway station from 2001 to 2003 under South Eastern Railway in Midnapore. However, he could not work for much longer and left work after some time.

His favorite dishes are butter chicken and chicken biryani, and he also loves hot chocolate fudge.

Dhoni is a big fan of Kishore Kumar and loves old songs. One of his favorite songs is “Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shire”.

In 1998, Dhoni was part of the Bihar Under-19 cricket team. His team lost against Punjab, but their performance was appreciated. Based on this, he was included in the Bihar Ranji team.

Dhoni got engaged to his childhood friend Sakshi Singh in July 2010 after a two-year affair at a farm house in Dehradun and then married the very next day. Both used to study in DAV school in Ranchi.

Dhoni scored an unbeaten 183 against Sri Lanka in Jaipur in 2005, the highest score by a wicket-keeper in ODI cricket. The CSK captain had hit 15 fours and 5 sixes, facing 145 balls in a successful chase of 299.

Dhoni was a great admirer of John Abraham and had long hair like him. Even when Bollywood actor John got his hair cut, Dhoni also got his hair cut.

Dhoni has also received several awards such as the ICC One Day Player of the Year Award (the first Indian player to receive this honor) in 2006, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and India’s fourth highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri Award in 2001.

Dhoni is the only cricketer to make it to the eight finals of the IPL. The former India captain has won the tournament with CSK three times in 2010, 2011 and 2018.

Dhoni has scored the most international sixes as a captain. He has hit 342 sixes so far and is ranked fifth in the list headed by former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi (476).

Dhoni has always said that the Army is his first love and he was conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel on 1 November 2011.
